  • Description

The Kanomax USA Model 6850 Handheld Micromanometer is a high-precision instrument tailored for duct traverse, HVAC testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB), and differential pressure measurement. Used together with a Pitot tube, it captures air velocity and computes volumetric airflow, delivering HVAC technicians a portable solution to assess airflow conditions across ductwork.

This unit covers a differential pressure range of -2500 to +2500 Pa and air velocity from 0.2 to 60 m/s, featuring fine resolution for accurate field readings. Its color LCD can display differential pressure, air velocity and airflow at the same time, enabling operators to instantly check all required values during duct traverse work.

Optimized for HVAC Duct Traverse & Airflow Testing

Built for HVAC technicians conducting duct traverses, the Model 6850 streamlines the conversion of velocity pressure readings into actionable air velocity and airflow data. When matched with a compatible Pitot tube, the unit derives air velocity from pressure readings and computes volumetric airflow according to duct dimensions.

Operators may input dimensions for round or rectangular ducts directly on the device. The 6850 then calculates airflow using measured velocity and the duct’s cross‑sectional area. An adjustable Pitot factor accommodates the specific correction coefficient of the Pitot tube in use.

Measures Differential Pressure, Velocity and Airflow

The Model 6850 delivers the core readings required by HVAC specialists for Pitot‑tube duct surveys. Its high‑resolution differential pressure sensing captures subtle pressure variations reliably, with built‑in computation to convert these readings into air velocity and volumetric airflow.

A broad selection of engineering units is supported: Pa, inH₂O, mmH₂O and mmHg for differential pressure; m/s and ft/min for velocity; m³/h, CFM and L/s for airflow. This flexibility suits HVAC field work adopting either SI or US customary units.

    Actual and Standard Airflow Calculations

Air velocity readings are affected by ambient temperature and barometric pressure. To enable consistent airflow evaluation, the Model 6850 offers both actual and standard measurement modes.

Users input on‑site temperature and atmospheric pressure, allowing the meter to compute actual velocity or normalize results to standard air conditions. This function is invaluable when comparing airflow data collected under varying environments or preparing reports referencing standard values.

Data Logging for HVAC Testing & Balancing

The Model 6850 stores up to 10,000 measurement records, supporting multi‑point documentation for duct traverses, system commissioning and air balancing jobs. Data can be grouped under test IDs and reviewed on the unit, with average, minimum and maximum values available for quick assessment.

Saved readings of differential pressure, velocity and airflow can be exported via USB for deeper analysis and report preparation. Integrated data logging simplifies record‑keeping when testing numerous ducts, sites or HVAC systems.

    Lightweight Field Micromanometer

Weighing around 0.79 lb (360 g), the Model 6850 is well suited for commercial, institutional and industrial HVAC site work. Battery power delivers roughly 15 hours of runtime, and an optional AC adapter supports extended testing where mains power is accessible.

For HVAC professionals needing a single portable instrument for differential pressure checks, Pitot‑tube duct traverses, velocity readings and volumetric airflow calculation, the Kanomax Model 6850 is a dependable tool for testing, adjusting and balancing.
